Our university's Yeşilova İsmail Akın Tourism Vocational School students cleaned the mosques in the district before the month of Ramadan. In the social awareness event attended by 25 students and lecturers, the mosques were cleaned. The students, who carried out a detailed cleaning inside and around the mosque, vacuumed the carpets, wiped the windows, and collected the garbage in the garden. This meaningful event, which exhibited exemplary solidarity and a sense of responsibility, both strengthened spiritual feelings and drew attention to environmental sensitivity.

School principal Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mert Gürlek said, “As Yeşilova İsmail Akın Tourism Vocational School, consistent with our university's policy of ‘From Universal Knowledge to Social Contribution’, we are always intertwined with society as well as science. In this context, our students participate in social awareness projects in different environments every month. They bring joy and happiness to the places they visit within the scope of the projects. In this project, they decided to clean the mosques before Ramadan, the sultan of 11 months. They cleaned the mosques determined in Yeşilova district and Salda village before Ramadan. I thank our young friends who uphold our environmental, national, and religious values,” he said.

Kahraman Kayan, the headman of Kayadibi village, said, “We were very happy to see the students in the mosque in our neighborhood. We were moved to see them upholding our values. It is a nice feeling that the university finds us, comes to us, and values us. Seeing university friends working in such a village neighborhood gives us hope for the future,” he said.

One of the students, Fatma Telci, said, “As part of the project before Ramadan, we voluntarily clean the mosques in the district with friends, it is a very nice feeling. National and religious values bring us together, today I saw that being together with both my student friends and our aunts and uncles in the village gives us strength, it is a very nice event, I am very happy, I wish a blessed Ramadan to all of Turkey in advance,” she said.

Student Beytullah Bakuş, who participated in the event, said, “Today we are in a very beautiful place, we are cleaning the mosque with our friends. Being together and being beneficial to society is nice. Sometimes we need to remember what we have forgotten. Isn't that what Ramadan is about? Sharing love, happiness, friendship, life. This sharing makes us stronger, it is a very nice event, I wish a good Ramadan,” he expressed.

At the end of the event, gözleme was offered to the university students by the village women.
